Meet Ron Hoehn
Hello,
Learning to be a Success in business started over thirty years ago for me.
For me, the ability to succeed, is a skill and an attitude that can be learned.
I was lucky as most of the skills were provided
through a volunteer program during my youth called Scouting!
My skills at leadership and communication were developed as a young man in Boy Scouts, as a patrol leader and later an Eagle Scout. The importance of those skills can't be under estimated in the value they have added to my adult abilities to work with construction crews and customers.
Those boyhood years of training and development have turned out to be a foundation of most every step of my life.
The value of those years and the training I took helped me develop my Remodeling business and work smoothly with nearly every customer I have encountered. I can proudly say I can count the customers that I have not enjoyed repeat business with on one hand.
I learned the basic skills of nearly all the trade skills of plumbing, carpentry and electrical from my parents working as the maintenance man on their many apartment units. I learned the method of doing business from my Dad, who's strength of character and hard honest work ethic, was only overshadowed by his independence.
When I joined up with a Boy scout troop, as their program developer, little did I know at that time I would be spending 13 wonderful years as their Scoutmaster, influencing and inspiring energetic kids from the surrounding church community. Many years of inspired moments and growth, for both me and the young men, were spent in the great outdoors canoeing, hiking and teaching independence. I got married in this stretch.
I moved on as our Councils Camp Ranger and spent 3 years moving buildings, coordinating work projects and basically adding my hands and skills to the repairs on maintenance and camp development. We took the camps 20 year plan and managed to condense it to a three year plan. We left the Camp in far better condition than it was utilizing nearly 40 volunteers that I'd befriended over the years.
We had fun!
Sadly the pay was poor. So, I found myself back pursuing Carpentry with vigor and moved to Derry and bought three houses, one to live in, two to rent.
Along side these details I became president of an antique auto club and managing editor of their news letter.
It wasn't hard to succeed with the quality personnel in this group.
With the advice of members in the group I was able to build a few cars from somewhat rubble condition.
At that time I had a 53 Chevy pick-up as my business vehicle, a 52 Ford Dump truck, a 58 Oliver Dozer, a Super 55 Oliver tractor backhoe and a 39 Chevy sedan for my car. I shouldn't forget that I had built two model T's back when I was at Dads motor repair shop, one of which I still have and use.
It takes some methodology to accomplish tasks and still enjoy life
Somehow I found time to reacquaint myself with music and joined a Community band as a saxophonist.
It took some time to gain my skills of high school back but, soon I was back to a heightened skill level. Adequate enough to play lead Alto in one band, Bari and Bass sax in a quartet and now bari in a another band that I call my home band.
In this time I met and old friend who convinced me to take a Nutritional Supplement for its health benefits and while putting an addition on her home gave it a good testing. I can safely admit and state that Reliv gave me back about 4 hours of lost energy and removed many an ache and pain from the rigors of framing, convincing me of its value as a product and a business.
Today at 50 years old, and still "out working" the youngsters in my business of Carpentry, playing in three bands at times and enjoying Camping and cycling I am enjoying no major health problems.
Ah, now because I can't imagine doing Construction when I am 70, I decided to switch gears a bit.
I'll share my practical business knowledge and helping others cut through the lies and misconceptions to build a personalized success strategy.
As president of a number of organizations I found how useful the net is and I think its the best advertisement vehicle to reach out to the broader community and help others reach independent business success.
In Scouting and as I have done in business, I have developed lasting friendships with nearly every one I have worked with, some going back to my childhood. I suspect I will continue this method of living, as having served so many organizations applying positive growth and desiring, nothing more, than to work honestly with others.
Some plan isn't it? Share knowledge, treat people fair and work with them so we both succeed in a worthwhile pursuit. I hope to work with you on your next success!
